5 Steps to Improve Your Life

Improving your life can be simple with some practical steps. Here are a few tips that have worked for me, and I believe they can help you too.

1. Meditation

Try meditating to calm your mind and reduce stress. Even just 10-15 minutes of meditation per day can make a significant difference. I meditate every morning and evening at the temple, which is surrounded by a little forest. The natural sounds create an amazing and peaceful environment. Find a quiet place, close your eyes, regulate your breath, and calm your thoughts.

2. Drink More Water

Since our bodies are made up of 60% water, it’s important to drink enough water for our health. Try to drink at least 8 litres of water per day(you can–6). Here, the temperature can sometimes reach up to 47°C, so I drink at least 6-8 litres of water daily. I start my day by drinking 1 litre of water as soon as I wake up, which helps flush out toxins and keeps my skin hydrated and healthy.

3. Exercise More

Regular exercise strengthens your body, boosts your energy, and makes you feel better. Try to exercise at least 3-4 times per week. I walk 10 km daily since the temple I visit is 2 km from my house. Additionally, I do yoga at the temple. You can choose activities such as walking, running, yoga, or fitness workouts.

4. Get Better Sleep

Good sleep is important for your mind and body health. Try to sleep in a comfortable bed and a quiet environment. I sleep at 9 PM and wake up at 4:30 AM, ensuring I get seven and a half hours of sleep each night. This routine helps me stay refreshed and energized.

5. Eat Healthy

Eating a balanced diet helps you get the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Avoid processed foods and choose healthy options such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and protein sources. I make sure to include one green vegetable and one meal with daal and rice daily. In the morning, I drink lassi and curd, and at night, I have a glass of milk. Additionally, I fast every Monday, which helps me cleanse my body and mind. This routine helps me maintain a healthy and balanced diet.
